The phone features ultrasonic pressure-sensitive sensor. When one of the sensors which are on the side (similar to HTC phones) is squeezed, the “X MODE” is activated which shuts down background tasks to optimize gaming performance, turns the phone theme to Red, and also activates the fan on the AeroActive Cooler accessory. The remaining two sensors called “AirTrigger” are on the two corners of the phone in landscape mode. Asus added that they can be used to launch and toggle specific tasks, plus they can are programmable in games.

The ROG Phone USB Type-C port is placed at the left side, which quite unusual. But according to Asus, the port is placed there so that you can charge and play games at the same time without interference from the cable. The 3.5mm headphone jack and the standard USB Type-C port are placed at the bottom.

The Asus ROG Phone comes with a number of accessory support, such as the aforementioned AeroActive Cooler, WiGig dock that outputs games on a big or external screen over the 802.11ad connection, Gamevice controller that can be attached to either end of the phone, a TwinView handheld dock with a clamshell design and 6,000mAh battery (seen above). The phone also has a dock for desktop accessories like mouse, keyboard and monitor.Asus ROG Phone

Asus is yet to make any announcements on games exclusive to the phone, which means there are none. Without exclusive games, even though there are numerous games available on the Google’s store (which are also available on other Android devices), the Asus ROG phone is more or less pointless.

In the gaming smartphone section, the Asus ROG Phone will be going against the likes of Xiaomi’s Black Shark, the Nubia Red Magic, and the Razer Phone. The pricing list is yet to be released, but there are some speculations that the price may be off the roof with these host of features it comes with. But the price needs to competitive to stay on top of other gaming phones. The phone is set for launch in Q3 2018.
