Cheers WhatsApp users: Video call option randomly popping up for some users. Has yours appeared?

In these parts, it can be gainsaid that WhatsApp is the number one messaging application. Favoured for its ease of use and for the simple but vital fact that we were introduced to the messaging platform since the time of ‘java’ and ‘symbian’ phones. From then on, WhatsApp has evolved to ultra-messaging app, changed ownership and become a heavy weight messaging platform, connecting over 300 million people on a daily basis. WhatsApp has nearly all the features that a techy could ask for; save for the video call function. WhatsApp faithful’s have repeatedly requested for this feature and after a long time of beta testing, which saw the requested feature introduced and removed in May, it seems WhatsApp is about to make our (yeah, I use the platform too) wishes come true. Android Nigeria gathered reports that the video call function is appearing in the call options of WhatsApp users. Android police seems to be the first to discover this. It seems that getting the new feature does not require downloading a new version of the messaging app provided you are currently using the most recent version.

Going by reports, the feature is worth the wait as it connects smoothly and allows easy communication. Well, that’s all I have on this one. If you have seen yours do share with us your experience. Still waiting to see mine or that of the AN crew pop. When it does, this post will be updated to share my or our experience, whatever be the case.
