Coolpad Note 6 launched in India with dual selfie camera and exclusive to offline Indian stores


Coolpad Note 6 has launched in India. According to the Chinese manufacturer, the smartphone is exclusive to the Indian market and will only be available for sale through offline stores, across 8 states of India.

The phone features a dual front camera setup comprising of an 8MP shooter and a 5MP secondary camera, which is capable of shooting 120-degree wide-angle pictures. The dual front camera mirrors the dual rear camera setup we do see in new releases, but Coolpad made no mention of its capabilities or existence of a portrait mode feature. The Coolpad Note 6 runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset and comes in two variants – 3GB RAM/32GB of internal storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage – which are expandable up to 128GB through a microSD card. It will run on Android 7.1 Nougat, quite unlike other newly released budget phones that run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, 16:9 aspect ratio with 1080×1920 resolution display. It features a front-facing fingerprint sensor, a headphone jack, MicroUSB, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor. Powered by a 4,070mAh battery, the Coolpad Note 6 is expected to last for 350 hours on a single charge.

The 3GB RAM/32GB variant is available at a price of Rs. 8,999 (~N49,000) and Rs. 9,999 (~N53,000) for the 4GB RAM/64GB variant and they come in Gold and Grey colour.

Syed Tajuddin, the CEO, Coolpad India, said in a press statement:

“We are also planning to introduce few more aggressive offline devices in next 2-3 months, in order to make an expansion in the offline market through our retails partners and multi-brand outlets. We are expecting that Coolpad will be able to make a strong presence in the offline market by the end of 2018.”
