Facebook adds 1,500 new emoji’s to Facebook messenger

Sometimes we wish we had better characters or Emoji’s to express ourselves while chatting over with friends and when it is not a question of having the emoji to express yourself, it then becomes a problem of having the emoji that conveys our personality, for instance, if you happen to be a dark skinned and want to send a smiley face emoji to a friend you are limited to yellow skinned emoji’s; this does not convey the message accurately. To address this small but pertinent issue in communication, Facebook has announced a new set of standardized emoji’s, 1,500 emoji’s to be precise. This new Emoji’s will be hitting Facebook messenger app today.

The new set of Emoji comes with very interesting expressions, you will find an emoji of a female police officer, an athlete, a swimmer, a runner, pedestrian, surfer etc. Facebook says this new update is “an effort to make the emojis you send a better representation of our world, you will also be able to pick the skin color you prefer. All you have to do is set the color you want your default emojis to be when Facebook Messenger launches, and your emojis after that will follow your preference. Of course, you’ll have the option to change this in settings or even make a one time decision. Also, at launch, we have emojis representing red heads for the first time”.
