We are about to see the ninth installment of the Samsung Galaxy S series, this upcoming version is rightly called the S9. Similar to what we saw last year, the Galaxy S9 will launch with a bigger variant, the Galaxy S9+. Both devices are beast’s however, the S9+ raises the ante significantly. That said, let us look at the available details of the device.
According to a listing Geekbench, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will sport 6GB RAM matched with Snapdragon 845 and there is 64GB of built-in storage. The screen on the device follows an already established trend, starting with an 18:9 screen with resolution defaulting to 1,080 x 2,220px (mind you this set in software hardware the screen will be QHD+).
The OS is Android 8.0 Oreo as expected. The benchmark score of the device is impressive, it is true to Qualcomm’s reference design and outscores the 2017 chips.
So far (going by the promotional videos released by Samsung) it very clear that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be photography centered device’s. With this pair, Samsung teases a reinvention of photography technology which raises the standard set by past Galaxy devices and sets new records for the capabilities of a smartphone camera can do. We might have to wait until the tentative launch of the device’s to find out other details of their specifications. However, as these things go, we may very well have all the facts before the launch and will only need to see in order to believe.
