HTC U12 Plus is official with Snapdragon 845 and pressure sensitive sides


HTC has released its first flagship dual camera since the HTC One (M8) and it’s mind-blowing. The HTC U12 Plus boasts off the charts specs and features which is in line with most 2018 high-end flagship smartphones. The device is an upgrade over U11 Plus, sporting the latest Snapdragon chipset, AI-camera features, and HDR10 screen. As usual, HTC delivery is always spot on.HTC U12 Plus

Like we said in the previous post, which is now being confirmed by the official release, HTC decided to choose its own course and not follow other Android manufacturers in following Apple footsteps to adopt the notch. Instead the HTC U12 Plus sports a thin bezel 6.0-inch Super LCD 6 display with no notch. The Super LCD 6 display which is protected by a Gorilla Glass comes with HDR10 and DCI-P3 supports.

The HTC U12 Plus features the latest Snapdragon 845 chipset, a 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage plus a microSD slot expandable to 128GB. It also has an IP68 dust and water resistance, but there is no headphone jack. Although the Android 8.1 Oreo has been out for months now, HTC U12 Plus comes with Android 8.0 Oreo. Though HTC has promised an update once Android P is available.

The rear dual-camera features a 16MP wide-angle sensor with f/1.8 lens and a 20MP telephoto lens. The primary camera comes with OIS and Phase detection plus Laser autofocus, video capabilities of 4K resolution at 60 fps. The front has two 8MP selfie cameras. With U11 sporting one of the best cameras of 2017, we can’t wait to see what U12 Plus has to offer.

The U12 Plus is powered by a 3,500mAh battery with wired charging even though it has a glass back. The battery size is much smaller than the one in U11 which is 3,930 mAh.HTC U12 Plus

The smartphone also comes with an upgraded version of HTC Edge Sense – Edge Sense 2 – which allows access to features such as apps, shortcuts, and one-handed usability, by squeezing the sides of the phone.
