Huawei have being releasing bits and pieces of the upcoming Huawei P9 specification, all in a bid to wet our appetite as the launch of the device draws near. Well, the specification of the device and that of other devices to be launched on the same day seem to have being revealed unceremoniously, thanks to a recent leak that allegedly profiles the specification and pricing of the Huawei P9, P9 max and P9 Lite. The benevolent revealer is Oppomart.
Let us check out the specs of these devices, shall we?
Huawei P9 specifications:
According to Oppomart, the Huawei P9 will be coming in a metal unibody that carries a 5.2-inch screen with a 1080p screen resolution. The device will feature a special display RAM, which allows static content on the screen to be rendered with the least power consumption. For pictures, the device is said to sport a 12MP dual camera setup on its back, which has Optical Image Stabilization, making it the first device to boost of such, in addition the back camera also has Laser focus. Huawei P9 carries a 5MP camera on its front.
In terms of the device chipset is sourced in house as the device sports a is powered by an Octa-core Kirin 950 chipset. This chipset is matched with 3GB of RAM and a 32GB in built storage. Huawei P9 will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Hauwei’s EMUI layered on the Android OS. Powering the device is a 3, 000 mAh battery, and the device supports dual SIM function with global LTE connectivity.
All this spec goodness goes for $500 (well over 60, 000 at current exchange rate), however this is not yet confirmed, so keep that in mind before you say yea! Or Ah!
Huawei P9 max
The Huawei P9max, has max size and specs just as the name implies. According to leaks, the P9 max will debut with a 6.2-inch screen with Quad HD resolution (1,440 x 2,560px). The Huawei P9 max screen size apparently makes it a Phablet.
It wasn’t just the screen size of the P9 max that got bumped up, the processing power of the device got increased with a Kirin 955 chipset matched with 4GB of RAM, and a 64GB internal storage. The device will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and EMUI sandwiched together. For picture, the P9 max sports the same 12MP duo camera with OIS and Laser focus, however, it has a better 8MP front camera. This is where the difference between the Huawei P max and P9 ends as they have the same battery size of 3,000mAh; this is not so good for the P9 max, reason being that the device sports a higher resolution screen than the P9, this will affect battery draining speed. The Huawei P9 Max carries a $700 price tag (significantly over 100, 000 at current exchange rate).
Finally, we have the Huawei P9 Lite, this device is Lite in spec relative to the P9 and P9 max. The Huawei P9 Lite comes with a Snapdragon 650 chipset, which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage. Past these specs, the ‘Lite’ has pretty impressive hardware. The device sports a 5-inch screen with a 1080p screen; same as the P9. The camera is also the same, as the P9 Lite retains the already mentioned 12MP duo camera with OIS, as well as a 5MP front camera. Huawei P9 Lite also supports dual-SIM and LTE, and has a 2,500mAh Li-Po battery powering it. All these specs come for $299 (over 60, 000 at current exchange rate).
So, that’s all we have on these devices, we would have to wait until April 6th to ascertain how true these leaks where. For what it is worth, I will say they are original. What is your thought on these devices and their price tage? Share with us via the comment box.
