Huawei + Porsche design produces the alluring Huawei Mate 9 Porsche design


Huawei Mate 9 Porsche design is another variant of the Huawei Mate 9. However, unlike the normal Mate 9, the Mate 9 Porsche design is created in partnership with Porsche design. This variant will be a limited edition in terms of the number of units available to customers. Therefore, it is a luxury edition of a premium device ( what can beat that). Spec wise, Huawei Mate 9 Porsche design is downright impressive, it’s design adds gloss to the devices impressiveness. Huawei calls the Porsche design Mate 9 “the best smartphone ever made”.

Huawei Porsche design comes with an all metal body that is curved at the edges, creating angled edges on the device. The metal body carries a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen curved at the sides. The Porsche screen is just 0.4-inch smaller compared to the Mate 9.

Under the hood, the Porsche variant comes with a larger RAM and Internal memory with 6GB RAM and 256GB internal memory. The device retains the same processors found in the regular Mate 9.

The camera setup also remains the same as those found on the Mate 9. A dual rear camera setup made of a 20MP monochrome camera and a 12MP colour camera. On the front, an 8MP camera sits atop the devices screen.


The device comes with a 4,000mAh battery that has supercharging capability that can enable the battery charge from zero to 100% in just 90 minutes and a days worth of battery in 30 minutes. The Porsche design runs Android 7.0 Nougat tweaked with Huawei’s EMUI 5.0.

Other notable differences, features and accessories of the Mate 9 Porsche design include, it’s finger print scanner built into the home key. The device comes with Porsche design ear buds, it has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a single speaker grill. The device also comes with a type-C reversible connector and support for other basic connectivity ( Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, DLNA, WiFi Direct,

The Mate 9 Porsche design will be available in just one colour, graphite black. The device costs a significant sum, $1,600 (well over #400,000 at the current exchange rate). When and where the device will be available is not fully known. The device will be made available to some European markets later this year. And then introduced into some Asian, European and Middle East markets by January 2017. Africa is not included in the list for now. Not minding this fact, for now, let us make our impressions known.
