Identify An Unknown Number With Smart Caller ID On Android KitKat
Announcing the android KitKat blew our minds and then, the Smart Caller ID which will feature on the Android Kit Kat blew our minds even more.
The Smart Caller ID will help you identify a calling number you don’t have on your list of contacts. How it works is when a random number calls you, Google goes through its database to display the name attached to the number.
With the Smart Caller ID, you can look up phone numbers from within the app. Just start typing the name of the business and the app will bring up the phone number.
With this, you no longer need Google maps to be able to get local numbers belonging to local businesses as once you type the business name, the phone number comes up.
Come 2014, when you receive a call from a number verified by Google, their name and number will automatically display on your smartphone. That is to say, Google will start using verified numbers to display caller information for the everyday android smartphone user.
However, it is a feature you can opt our from if you do not want information displayed.
