Blackberry plans to release three Android phone’s , Neon, Argon and Mercury. See full details


According to recent leaks outed by Evan Blass via his Twitter handle @evleaks, Blackberry plans to release three new Android device’s that are nothing like the Blackberry Priv in terms of price. The three upcoming devices are named after elements in the chemistry periodic table, they are Neon, Argon, and Mercury.

If you have been following news about the Canadian based companies activities, you will recall that some months ago, rumor had it that the company planned on releasing two Blackberry Android powered smartphones codenamed Hamburg and Rome. Well, it seems that the rumor was not so correct after all. Going by Evan Blass’s pedigree in leaking spot on details of upcoming devices, this should be it. However, it is unofficial, therefore, you should it with as much grain of salt as you can.

That said, here are details of the upcoming Blackberry devices and there release period. First on the release timetable is Neon, scheduled to be released between July and August. This smartphone will be sporting a 5.2-inch screen with 1080p (HD) resolution. Still on the surface, a 13MP camera will be found on the devices back and an 8MP on the front. Under the devices Aluminum and plastic shell, 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 617, 16GB of storage, and a 2610mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 capability sits inside. Neon is obviously an upper midrange device and should compete favorably in this category in terms of specs and pricing.
The second phone, Argon, is scheduled to be released u in October. It’s the most powerful of the lot, sporting a 5.5-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 3000mAh battery equipped with Quick Charge 3.0. For pictures and videos, Argon sports a 21MP camera on the back and 8MP on the front, it also has fingerprint reader, and USB Type-C connector.

Finally, Mercury is billed for a Q1 of 2017 release. Mercury standout from the three devices with its fully Querty keyboard, which will be installed on the device front. Mercury will come with an aluminum body with a 4.5-inch full HD display in 3:2 aspect ratio – this will make room for
the keyboard on the bottom. Under the hood, a Snapdragon 625, 3GB of
RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 3400mAh battery can be found. For pictures and videos, an 18MP is placed on the device back while an 8MP camera is placed in front.

Besides the fact that the upcoming Blackberry devices will be competitively priced (should be cheap), in order to regain market share and bolster Blackberry’s fumbling hardware division, that’s all we have this one.
