As we all should know already, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is Samsung’s flagship for 2017. The device should be everything to look forward to; that is if the leaks on the device’s image and specs are accurate. Now, we have a leak that is almost as good as getting the information from the horse’s mouth (the horse here is Samsung). Serial leaker, Evan Blass of Venture Beats has just revealed what clearly seems to be the promotion material of the Galaxy S8 Plus. This material details a number of key specifications that will be found on/inside the device. In case you don’t know, the Galaxy S8 Plus is senior to the regular Samsung Galaxy S8. Therefore, it is expected that it should come with better specs compared to its lower comrade, the regular S8. That said; let us take a look at the specs on the promotion material leaked by Evan Blass. Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will be coming with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The device carries a 6.2-inches Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with boxed corners or 6.1-inches Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display when the rounded corners are factored.
On the inside, you will find a 4GB RAM clubbed with an expandable 64GB internal memory. For pictures and videos, Galaxy S8 Plus is equipped with a 12-megapixel ‘Dual Pixel’ rear camera, along with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The device will come with other connectivity, entertainment, and convenience features including, 4G LTE support, Samsung pay, Samsung Smartphone AI assistant; Bixby, a wireless charging feature, as well as ear phones tuned by AKG. This is all the information that can be gleaned from the leaked promotional material. Other specs on the device fall under speculations/leaks much like this present information, reason being that they do not come from the authorized source, Samsung. Hopefully, we will be seeing more leaks before the device is released come April. However, it is worth mentioning that Samsung is expected to announce the device during the Mobile World Congress while the actual release will done at a separate event in April. The reason for Samsung’s delay is unknown, some believe it is a marketing tactic while others are of the opinion that the delay is to ensure the Galaxy S8 and its variants are flawless. Whatever the reason maybe, we will eventually see the device unveiled in the first quarter of this year.
