LG has announced “G Flex”, the company’s first smartphone with a curved OLED display. The phone has a 6-inch HD Curved OLED display with a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels, a 2.26 GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. It has a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera.
The Curved OLED display from LG Display has Real RGB sub-pixels for better colors and the display is vertically concave from top to bottom with a radius of 700mm. The phone has a 3500 mAh curved battery developed by LG Chem.
”Since the phone is curved, loud-speaker present on the back doesn’t touch the ground so the sound would be much crisper than other smartphones, says LG. The back cover has self-healing technology since it is coated with a special material so that scratches can be removed within minutes. The power button and the volume keys are present on the back and has high-end sound quality (24bit, 192kHz), similar to the LG G2.”
