Motorola explains brand removal plan (update)

Motorola brand faithfuls must have been surprised by Lenovo’s announcement at the CES, of the company’s plans to remove the Motorola branding from future smartphones. This news made rounds on the internet, and might have being misunderstood by Motorola consumers. This has made the company to release a lengthy statement on their official blog,  which contains an explanation on what the brand phasing out was all about.

The main point and aim of their blog release was to assure its consumers that only the name Motorola was being changed to Moto, which will not affect the quality of their products. The “Motorola” company brand will become less central to our marketing,and most importantly, Motorola Mobility isn’t going away, the company wrote.

According to blog statement, “Moto” is synonymous with Motorola, and it conveys the Motorola brand to consumers in a contemporary and engaging way. (Read more)

Going by what the company has just published, there is no difference between Motorola and Moto. Therefore, Motorola fans shouldn’t worry, as their loved brand is still in production. However, its coming out in a new and improved style.
