Nearly all reputable mobile manufacturing giants in the smartphone market have released flagships with Snapdragon 845, and those who have not had time to do so are moving in this direction. Due to a complex relationship with Qualcomm until recently Meizu could not release its product with a top chipset from an American chip maker. Well, the disagreements have been settled, and the Chinese based company is preparing to unveil the Meizu 16 line with Snapdragon 845 and Snapdragon 710. The announcement is coming, and there is a lot of buzz on about the device on the internet, especially in China. Rumors and leaks have accompanied the buzz. Meizu 16 surfaced online in “live” pictures in black and white colors.
The leaked image of the upcoming device matches past renderings and pictures of the device. Around the display there are thin frames, there are no touch navigation buttons (they will be replaced by gesture control) and a fingerprint scanner built into the screen (It seems Samsung won’t be the only one having this feature).
Already, we know that the device will sport top-notch hardware as a leak of the Meizu 16’s Antutu test scores suggest. And we’ve already seen that the camera of the device will also be fitting for a flagship device. Here are pictures taken by the CEO of Meizu with the upcoming Meizu 16.
On Chinese social networks, the discussion about the device suggests two tentative dates of release of the Meizu 16 series; August 8 or 16. Whichever way, the release of the Meizu 15 series should not go past August 26. For now, we will continue to gather and share information on the device from the rumours that we find online. As for the pricing of the devices, Meizu 16 will be released in three versions 6/64 GB, 6/128 GB, and 8/128 GB, and they will be priced at $ 417, $ 447 and $ 491 respectively. Meizu 16 Plus will be available in two versions: 8/128 GB – $ 536 and 8/256 GB – $ 595. Well, we will have to wait for the launch to find out which rumours and predictions were correct.
