Nokia D1C is probably going to be Nokia’s first smartphone for 2017

It is no news that 2017 will be the year of the Nokia brand’s re-entry into the smartphone market. We have seen several confirmations of this fact, most recently during Nokia’s investor meeting. Among the first few smartphones that will come with the Nokia branding is set to be the D1C. The said the device has appeared on three separate benchmark databases.

A correlation of the specs revealed by these benchmark databases shows that one of these devices or perhaps a variant of the Nokia D1C will come with a screen size pegged at 13.8″, however, the reality is that this will in fact be a phone, according to a new rumor on the matter.
Information has it that we will be seeing not one phone, but two actually. Obviously, we are set to see a lower-end 5-inch Nokia D1C with a 1080p touchscreen, a 13 MP main camera, an 8 MP selfie shooter, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage. The said device, will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, hosting a 1.4 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and an Adreno 505 GPU. It will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
The other Nokia D1C variation will keep all of those specs, save for a bigger 5.5-inch display (with the same 1080p resolution), a 16 MP rear camera, and 3GB of RAM.
There is no word yet on the pricing or any specific release period; however, Nokia is expected make these devices official at Mobile World Congress in February, or it may hold a special launching event of its own at some other time.
