The Nokia resurgence: Meet Nokia 6, Nokia’s latest Android device

 


Nokia has been duly missed in the smartphone market, a space where they once dominated thoroughly. A lot of Nokia faithfuls and even those wanting good competition for the top for brands have been looking forward to the day the Finnish company makes a comeback into the smartphone company. The day has come and Nokia has announced the Nokia 6, a mid-range device in every way save for the devices premium finish.

Before we go any further, here is the bad news about this device: it is only available to the Chinese market via JD.com. The rest of the world will have to wait until the company announces a global device to get a chance of owning a Nokia branded the device.

Specification of the Nokia 6

The body of the Nokia 6 is cut out of the 6,000 series aluminium and then passed through two separate anodizing process to give the device a look that is far above its price range. Inside the devices shell you will find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with an octa-core Cortex-A53, Adreno 505 GPU clubbed with an ample 4GB of RAM and a 64GB internal storage.
On the front, Nokia 6 carries a 5.5-inch 1080p resolution screen covered by a 2.5D curved Gorilla glass sheet.


For photos and videos, Nokia 6 is equipped with a 16MP rear snapper with PDAF (Phase detection auto focus) and an 8MP front snapper.

The device comes with a host of connectivity and GPS features found on mid-range devices. The retail price of the device is pegged at 1,699 CNY or $245 and will be exclusively available through JD.com.
