The long-awaited arrival of the Oppo new flagship since the Find X is finally here. The Oppo Find X is designed not to only shake some tables but break them as well as. iPhone X, Xiaomi Mi 8 and even the newly released Vivo Nex are on those tables.
Here’s everything you need to know

Revolutionary Pop-up Design

One feature that does stand out and make gravitate towards the Oppo Find X is its pop-up mechanism at the top of the device. Mounted in front of it are a 25MP selfie camera and 3D facial scanning system, and when not in use, it slides down to hide behind the front panel. The mechanism is capable of popping up in half a second for selfies and authentication.

Also at the back of the mechanism is a dual-camera setup comprising of a 20MP shooter with f/2.2 lens and a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 lens. According to Oppo, the mechanism was tested to 300,000 slides and boasts of durability which can last for at least five years.Oppo Find X back camera

The Oppo Find X sports a 6.42-inch AMOLED dual curved screen with 2,340 x 1,080 (19.5:9 screen ratio) pixels resolution, tiny bezels and a screen-to-body ratio of 92.25%. This is brought about by the very innovative pop-up mechanism. The rear and front panels are made of glass with the aluminium mechanism in-between.

A contender for the most powerful phone?

While the sleek and space-age design of the Find X is the “Beauty”, the specs are the “Beast” within.

The phone runs on a Snapdragon 845 SoC with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a powerhouse of 3,730mAh battery with VOOC fast charging. This range of specs is one of the most powerful we have seen so far in 2018.Oppo Find X

One of the phones which have specs more powerful than this is the Asus ROG Phone which is powered by a larger 4,000mAh battery and runs on a faster Snapdragon 845 with up to 512GB of storage.

In the software section, the Oppo Find X offers an AI boosted Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.1 skin on top.

What’s missing?

Although the Find X comes with amazing specs and design, Oppo left out some features in the strive for perfection.Oppo Find X

Like most people, I expected Oppo to build on the new standard Vivo brought with the NEX and take it to another level. Which they did in terms of the pop-up cameras, but alas! there is no under the screen fingerprint sensor, there none even at the back, front or side, no fingerprint at all. What we have is a 3D facial recognition system which Android does not support for now. The only option left is PIN or password.

In addition to this, the Oppo Find X has no headphone jack, no IP rating for waster or dust resistance. There is no even microSD card slot, though the 256GB of internal storage might be sufficient enough.

Oppo Find X price and availability

All these specs, features and design don’t come cheap at all. The Oppo Find X is expensively priced at €999 (~N420,000). It will be available in Italy, Spain, France, and the Netherlands as of August.
