Panasonic Lumix CM10, a new Camera run on Android.


Panasonic has unveiled its latest “Camera like” phone the Panasonic CM10, a supposed camarada (brother) of the previously released LUMIX Smart Camera DSC-CM1, except it doesn’t place calls. which is almost all the difference there is between these two models.

The Lumix CM10’s  sports a 28mm F/2.8 Leica DC lens with 1-inch CMOS image sensor and manual focus ring that can take photos at a resolution of 20MP and record videos at up to 4K, Amazing, right? Although the rest of the CM10’s specs are a tad under-par, when compared to what is obtainable, nevertheless they are  satisfactory. There’s a Snapdragon 801, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage with a MicroSD slot, and a 2600mAh battery. You view your photos on the 4.7″ 1080p display and you can connect the camera via Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and even 3G and LTE (data and SMS only, no voice calls). The CM10 runs on Android 5.0, and is quite weighty, the CM10 weighs 203g while being 15.2mm thick at the camera section.

These Camera or Camera like phone, which ever you choose to call it, will not be coming cheap, as our news source states that the Panasonic Lumix CM10 will be sold at $850 (over #100k, according to estimates). It’s expected to go on sale on February 25th in Japan,although, at the moment there is no information on when Lumix CM10 will be released internationally. It is pertinent to note, that the Panasonic CM1 was sold exclusively to the European market, lets hope we don’t have a repeat.

In recent times, most company’s are releasing one or two gadgets with an android based Operating System, even camera makers are not left out. We have seen “camera like” phones, that is, a phone made with the primary purpose of taking pictures, it might not have all the functions of a contemporary phone or device. These camera like phones have a humongous camera strapped to their backs, an example is the Samsung K zoom, The just analyzed Panasonic Lumix CM10
