If you are a Samsung device owner, then this good news for you. The company announced today through their support site that the January security update is now rolling out to devices. Although, Samsung used the phrase “major flagship models” in describing the Samsung devices receiving the security updates. Consequent upon this, it is safe to say that it is the majority of 2015 and probably earlier flagship models of Samsung devices, that will be receiving the new security updates.
This update will not be bringing any new feature besides increased security of your device. According to the announcement, “Samsung Mobile is releasing a maintenance release for major flagship models as part of monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) process”. “This SMR package includes patches from Google and Samsung”.
Owners of Samsung’s major flagship devices be expectant and for those who do not own a major flagship model, your security update is should be on its way. Security is a major concern nowadays, and major companies are trying protect their customers and devices alike from security breaches.
