Tecno announces, Tecno W4 (See specifications and pricing.

Tecno is arguably one of Nigeria’s most popular smartphone brands, this is owed to the fact that Tecno device makers, Tecno mobile, focuses on releasing phones for the low-end smartphone users, who make up the bulk of the Nigerian smartphone user baser.  Tecno have refined their act over the years, with the Phantom Z, Phantom 5 to show for it.  The Chinese OEM has released another device, making it their second release for 2016. Unlike the earlier released Tecno Boom J8, the release of the Tecno W4 was surprisingly quiet, making one wonder if this is due to the devices low-end status compared to the J8.

That said let us take look at what the Tecno W4 offers, in wowing order.

The first talk point of the Tecno W4 is that it comes with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), a pleasant and perplexing surprise, if I must say. Pleasant because it is nice to see a Tecno run the more recent Android 6.0, and perplexing considering the fact that the Boom J8 came with the older Android 5.1 older; making one wonder why the better specced device would come with an old Operating system.

Past the OS of the W4, another positive of this device is its 8MP wide-angle rear camera; this should be sufficient for picture taking. Sadly, W4’s nice rear camera is subjugated by a 2MP front facing camera. Besides the above listed specs, Tecno W4 sports a low-end spec by all standards. The device sports a plastic body with a metallic frame, to give it sturdy build. Tecno W4 sports a 5.0 inch HD IPS touchscreen. Under the devices shell, you will find a 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage that is expandable up to 64GB via Micro SD card.

All these spec goodness goes for ₦26,000 on Konga and Jumia. Prices should similar in retail shop, however, it may be slightly differ depending on your location.
