The Xiaomi Mi 6X: Specs, Features and Release date

 


 

Xiaomi teams up with Google to introduce an Android One based Xiaomi Mi 6X which is set to launch in the coming weeks.

When the Mi A1, a re-branded version of the Mi 5X running on Android One instead of Xiaomi’s MIUI, it was well accepted and turned out to be a fantastic mid-range level smartphone. Xiaomi is ready to take it further with the launch of Xiaomi Mi 6X.

Invitations have been sent out by the Chinese company to the media for an event on the 25th of April in China, where the phone may be announced.

The Xiaomi Mi 6X went through China’s TENAA last month, giving us a look at the specs and features.

The phone will sport a 5.99-inch FHD+ 18:9 aspect ratio with 2160×1080 resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, 4GB to 6GB of RAM, 64GB to 128GB of storage, microSD slot and hybrid SIM card slot.

The Xiaomi Mi 6X will feature a dual rear camera setup which is becoming a “thing” on every new Android smartphone. The dual camera system features a 12MP and 20MP with f/1.8 aperture. The front camera is a 20MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture and a flash. The cameras offer Portrait Mode or bokeh effect.

The phone is will run on Android Oreo 8.1 with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 since it’s for the Chinese market. The variant for the global market is expected to run on Android One but the day of release has not been announced yet. The Xiaomi Mi 6X will be powered by a 2910mAh battery.

There is a possibility that the Mi 7 will be revealed at the event alongside Mi 6X or alone, as Mi 6 was also launched in April last year, although this has not been confirmed yet.
