Venture Starter to train 1,200 tech Start-ups in Lagos at Founders Conference

 


Founders Conference is gradually evolving as the biggest convergence of technology interests in Nigeria. The annual event which intends to host 1,200 technology entrepreneurs, tech geeks, web application developers, technology business investors, technology enthusiasts and other innovation-driven business owners will hold a second edition on Thursday May 11, 2017.  The event organised by Venture Starter Limited will be held at Sheba Centre, Coza, Beside FCMB, Mobolaji-Bank Anthony, Ikeja, Lagos.
The maiden edition of Founders Conference held at Four Points By Sheraton, Victoria Island last year drawing about 300 tech space players, entrepreneurs, speakers and tech enthusiasts including Dr. Henrietta Inwuegbuzie of Lagos Business School, Fikayo Ogundipe of Tolet.com.ng; Bilikiss Adebiyi Abiola of Wecyclers and a whole lot of others.

According to a statement from the organizers; Venture Starter Nigeria and signed by the Convener, Bunmi Jembola this year’s event is themed: Driving Change By Innovation and the keynotes will be presented by Akin Oyebode (Executive Secretary, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund) and Eyo Bassey (Founder/CEO, Payporte.com). Other speakers expected at this year’s event include: Maria Keshinro (Country Manager, Uber); Fikayo Ogundipe (Founder, Tolet.com.ng) Lola Masha (Country Manager, OLX), John Obidi (Founder, SmartBCamp), Julliet Ehimuan (Country Manager, Google); Godwin Benson, Founder of Tuteria.com, and the Convener, Bunmi Jembola. The orgnaizers further stated that the objectives of the event this year include: Having about 30 innovative tech startup founders pitch their businesses to participants, Connecting viable tech startup founders to willing angel investors, Providing one-day high-value training from successful tech-preneurs. Absorbing 10 very promising tech start-ups into our Venture Acceleration Program, Creating a viable collaboration and networking platform for technology interests.

The statement reads in part: “Founders Conference was conceived as a platform for Nigerian technology startup founders to learn, network, pitch their ideas, gain better visibility and access viable fund providers. We have no doubt we are on the right path to achieving the goals of the conference hinged on shaping the future of technology in Nigeria and by extension; the African continent. This year’s event, like last year will be again while a number of highly innovative technology products/companies will be exhibited”
