A new Xiaomi phone gets TENAA certification: Is it the Xiaomi Mi Max 3?

It seems like there’s no end to the number of smartphones the Chinese company, Xiaomi, will release this year. After the release of the Xiaomi Redmi 6 last week, there are rumours flying around that the company is already in production for yet another phone. This new phone is said to be a new member of the Mi Max family – Xiaomi Mi Max 3. The phone is reported to have been spotted on China’s TENAA with features distinct to the Mi Max line-up.

The listings revealed some specs of the smartphone, but it wasn’t accompanied by images of the phone. It will be powered by a large 5,400mAh battery. The phone will feature a 6.9-inch screen with LCD 2160×1080 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.

The last member of the Mi Max family featured a 5,300mAh battery and 6.44-inch screen with Full HD resolution. Apparently, the Mi Max 3 is following the family tradition with a bigger battery and bigger screen.

The smartphone is also listed to run on an octa-core 1.8GHz processor paired with RAM options of 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB with 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB options for internal storage. The unnamed chipset is speculated to be a Snapdragon 636, but we can’t be sure of anything until the official spec sheet is released.

The listing also stated that the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features three cameras, which is likely to be a dual 12MP rear camera setup and a 5MP selfie camera.

Further details include 176.15×87.4×7.99mm phone dimension with 221g body weight. It’s stated to run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and features a headphone jack, fingerprint sensor and IR blaster for quality sounds.

The predecessors of the Xiaomi Mi Max 3, Mi Max and Mi Max 2 were announced in May 2016 and June 2017 respectively. This put the launch of the smartphone before late July. As for the pricing, we have no idea yet.
